One night I had a very bitter experience. Which couldn't be easily digested, having seen by my own eyes. I was tremendously shattered, had it been better if it was heard. But then it had taught me much greater lessons and also broadened the way of my thought was.
In proceeding with the age old tradition, at the dusk when all rituals conducted by choeps (religious practitioners) concludes the rituals of laymen begins (traditional dances). Likewise on the dusk my lochoe (annual ritual), I was dancing (traditional dances) with my relatives and the flocks of guest that were present during the lochoe. All of us were making fun. In time to time drinks (ara; locally brewed wine) and fruits were served for dancers and audiences as well; it was complemented by hot teas and snacks for the teetotallers. It was very late and almost every drinkers were drunk.
The guest has started to move back to their residences. At that instant I saw one woman was hugging and kissing with a man to thank him for his presence. I wasn't sure whether others noticed or not because it was in a shadowed place and on top of that there wasn't much who has abstained from drinks of me. But I was embarrassed having seen their unethical acts. I kept myself blinded by facing away from the scene.
The dance was concluded with the melodious Tashi labey led by the legendary nightingale of my village (Taktse) "Aum Langamo" with the words of wishes for "peace, prosperity and success for the year and to be able to gather at the same place, same occassion of the year followed ".

After having all the guest left, We the family members sat in round and chatted over the fun we had. But I have never mentioned about the fishy incident I have seen nor any one could utter a word about it. It seems they haven't seen it or must be hiding within like me.
Then all of us left for our heavenly bed with tired body but with relaxed mind after having done our part for the year. That night I had to recollect the scene and rationalize about their deeds. The woman is a mother of four though she doesn't seem to be. The eldest being almost at my age, the scene that woman created is barely in acceptance of the age old society of my village. This might look casual had it been her daughters, Who are educated and oriented in similar scenarios. Whereas she is purely a village girl; born, brought up and living in the village. Then I compared it with me and I hardly find myself giving hugs to my female friends. Even if I do so, I do it with much discomfort in my mind. As afore mentioned I never did it, not even during my college days. Then finding or having a memory of such during my schools were a baseless.
My final conclusion was that to socialize or to practice a new culture, formal school education is not required. I am a graduate with a well respected job and still i don't feel good to go for such actions. In such cases we can be influenced by our surrounding people even if we are not able to read and write, as in this case. Now I think the woman has been influenced by the society erupted from ILCS and the Higher Secondary school.

I know who the woman was, still might be mystery and I like to remain it as undisclosed. I plea for those who knew about it to remain within so it wouldn't embarrass whole of the society.
